ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTE NOVEMBER 3, 1994

meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the
Selectmen's meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, at 7:00 P.M
The first public hearing was on the petition of Thomas
Strandberg who was seeking a Variance/Special Permit under
Sections 4.3.2.8.7a and 4.3<2 of the Zoning By-Laws in
order to have an Accessory apartment in a new dwelling
currently under construction on the property located, at
22 Manning Street, Reading, a
so Weiworka stated that there was a letter from the
applicant stating that he would like to withdraw his
application without reudice e It was also noted that the
applicant was also present at the meeting.
At 7:10 P.M. Mrm Tucker moored to accept the petitioner's
request to withdraw his petition without prejudice. Mr.
Jarema: seconded and the motion passed with a vote of 3-0

'the next hearing was the continuation of the hearing on the
petition of Andrew Nichols. se Wi,e orka read a letter
from Mr. Nichols stating that he had resolved the situation
with the Building Inspector and that he would lire to
withdraw his petition without prejudice.
At 7414 r, Jarema moored, to grant a withdrawal without
prejudice to the petitioner, Andrew Nichols, for the
property located at 1152 Main Street, Mr. Tucker seconded
and the motion passed with a vote of 3-0
`she Board discussed that r. Redmond. had talked with the
State Building Inspector and Ted Cohen and. was convinced
that the existence of a second kitchen slid not necessarily
mean it was a two family. It was discussed that the
Nichols and Strander case were in-lair related and not two
family situations. It was also discussed that Mr. Redmond
was uncomfortable making these decisions and ghat the best
way to handle these type of cases would be.
It was decided that a meeting would he set with red Cohen
and r. Redmond to discuss what the best way t handle this
would be.
Approval of Previous Minutes
rw Tucker moved to accept the minutes of March 4, 1993.
Mr. ;urea a seconded and the motion passed with a vote of
-0-1 with r 4 Vaccaro abstaining.
Mr. Jarema moved to accept the minutes of September 2,
1993 o Mre Tucker seconded and the motion passed with a
vote of 3°0_1 with M. accaro abstaining.

s a Mr. Vaccaro seconded and the motion passed with a
of ----0
At 7:45 a potion was made and seconded to adjourn and the
Board voted unanimously to do so
