Absent: Mrs. Carol Beckwith. Ms. Dubois.called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. Minutes: Mrs. Marnik moved that the minutes be approved. The motion passed. Statistical Report: FY89 circulation statistics are 6874 over FY88. The slight drop from September to October was attributed to one less day open. The average daily circulation was higher, although the total was not. Unfinished Business: The Board discussed the results of its priority setting exercise. Out of a total of 500 points, 235 were given to popular materials library, 130 to reference and information center, and 55 to formal education support center. It was the consensus of the Board that the current priorities are as they should be. Mrs. Marnik proposed that the Library should maintain a basic level collection in all general subject areas despite its primary role as a popular materials center. The Board concurred. Ms. Flannery will conduct the same exercise with the staff and compare results. New Business: 1) Ms. Flannery presented a budget for FY90 which included two new program requests. Mr. Fields recommended a 17% increase in the Library acquisitions account. The Board concurred. With that one change, Mr. Diamond moved that the budget be accepted. The motion passed. 2), Ms. Flannery forwarded a request from the Lions Club for use of the Meeting Room for their evening dinner meetings. Since serving meals is expressly forbidden by the meeting room policy, and the Library cannot accommodate any one group for a weekly meeting due to great demand, the Board declined the request. 3) Ms. Flannery presented the FY90 budget for NOBLE. Mr. Fields moved that the budget be approved. The motion passed. t The meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Susan Flannery j Director
