Downtown Standing Committee
Selectmen will meet August 11th to determine whether to go ahead with plans
Board of Assessors - no action
We need action before Town Meeting
Suggest we set up meeting with Assessors
Correspondence:
1. Board of Selectmen Agenda for 29 July 1997
2. Letter from Glen Redmond about demo at 25 School Street. It is a portion of a building and
does not invoke Demo Law.
3. Copy of letter to MHC from Michael A. Meerbartolo, Jr about work on a group home at 159
Hopkins Street. Does not have historical significance.
Adaptive Reuse:
Pictures of 89 Main Street show saltbox structure.

no definitive answer as to what will happen next. There are for sale, lease, etc signs on the
premises.
Archives:
Computer volunteer has 10 hours of work done. Doing a fine job.
Streetscapes:
Police Stsation: Should RHC have an imput into the design of the new police station?

Reorganization of RHC Officers - no action
History Landscape Grant for Lobbs Pond mill site to identify remains of the structure
Civil War Monument in Laurel Hill Cemetery to rec&t names and inscriptions
Christian Science Church needs repair. They applied for a grant and were rejected. Need our help
to endorse project. Have them send us a letter.
