1. Minutes were read for meeting of January 5. Moved to accept Virginia, Louise
seconded. Minutes were accepted. 4-0-0. The minutes for July are still missing.
2.µ Treasurer's report: Roberta reports that there is $754.11 in the special account
and $41-1.64 in the regular account. There were no bills. Report accepted 4-0-0.
3. Old business: Correspondence; Downtown Steering Committee; Historic
Massachusetts Meeting Chelsea Jan. 24th, Louise Sandberg will attend.
4. Archives: Eleanor Dalrymple has finished the architectural inventory and now
is employed doing various tasks in the repository under the property tax incentive
program.
5. Streetscapes: We need new measurements for 605 Main Street; Virginia
broached article for the paper to make the citizens aware of what is being lost; Roberta
suggested waiting until the permit is pulled; nothing new on 32 John Street or the Mill
Street Bridge.
6. 288 Grove St.: The first meeting of the Reading Friends of Historic Preservation
met last week and received its first contribution. Kurt Nietzche is pursuing the search
for house movers. Next meeting of the Committee is Thursday 29 January. We are
invited to attend the next board of Selectmen's meeting concerning the property that
the Water department owns on Grove St. for possible use for the Grove St. property.
The commission would like to see a donation of the property to the "Friends" group
with the remaining income minus the costs going to the town on the sale of the
property. David will prepare a display of photos and maps to present to the Board of
Selectmen.
