William and Janet McElhiney came to explain their need to move part of their stone wall in order to facilitate the expansion of their home at 140 Walnut St. Virginia felt we needed to make our decision this evening in order-to allow the property owners to proceed with their plans. She has prepared a letter for CPDC to make them aware of our concerns. All members have viewed the site. Col. Hoxie suggested that the plans provide a cross section to show the foundation (18 inch gravel), The commission approved the plans for the stone wall and the issuance of the letter, 4-0-0. 2. Walnut Street plans. Blueprints were examined. The residents have concerns about the kinds of sidewalks and the stone walls. The visiting residents are inclined to have grass sidewalks and walls made of existing old stone. Virginia suggested drafting a letter to CPDC including our recommendations that would include grass sidewalks and sloping granite curb. The city shcould also investigate the depth, of the wall to see if a new wallis needed.. N a wall is needed, it should. match the style and materials already existing on the street (dry lading). Approved: 4-0-0 3. Foster-Emerson House. Les and Cheryl Sidelinker attended to update us on their progress. The house became their property the first week of August.
