ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 20, 1997

A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the
Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts at 7:OOPM. Mr. Coote swore in, under
oath, those present that would be addressing the Board this evening.
The first Public Hearing was on the petition of Philadelphia Sign Co., Inc. who seeks a Variance
under Section(s) 6.2./6.2.3. of the Zoning By-Laws in order to erect two signs on the property
located at 1342 Main Street (Marshalls) in Reading, Massachusetts. (Case #97-02)
Prior to this hearing, Town Counsel H. Theodore and Building Inspector Glen Redmond found it
appropriate to issue Sign Permits for the application applied for at 1342 Main Street, Reading,
Massachusetts, dated 12/20/96, which would eliminate the need of obtaining a variance..
At 7:15PM, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to allow withdrawal without
prejudice.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
The next Public Hearing was a continuation on the petition of OIA Corp. and Kevin Emery who
seeks an appeal from the Decision of the Building Inspector under Section(s) 7.4.2.1. of the
Zoning By-Laws in order to construct a dwelling on the property located at Lot 12 Carriage
Estates, Phase II in Reading, Massachusetts. (Case #96-24)
Attorney Mark Favaloro, representing the applicants, requested to withdraw the petition of the
applicants without prejudice.
At 7:20PM, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to allow withdrawal without
prejudice.

At 7:45PM, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to accept the minutes of
August 15, 1996 - Executive Session, as written, September 19, 1996 as modified, October 3,
1996 as written, October 10, 1996 as written, and December 19, 1996, as written.

At 7:50PM, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn, and the Board voted unanimously to do
so.
