(Case #98-22) The petitioner was represented by Richard Batten and by officers of Eastern Bank. The bank is located in a supermarket, which has two major entrances. The bank has a sign at the rear entrance but none at the front. They are requesting this sign so that customers will be able to locate this branch. The sign serves as an informational sign only. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to grant to Batten Bros. a Variance from Section 6.2 of the Zoning By-Laws to erect a sign on the front of the building at 30 Haven Street, of dimensions 44 x 36 inches located in compliance with the layout shown on a plan marked as exhibit "A", subject to the Building Inspector determining that other signs on the building meet the requirements of the By-Laws.
