ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTES OF OCTOBER 1, 1998

A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's
Meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts
at 7:OOPM. Mr. Vaccaro swore in, under oath, those present that would be
addressing the Board this evening.
The first Public Hearing was on the continuation of the petition of Raymond
and Lauren Johnston who seeks a. Special Permit under Section(s) 6.3.1.3 of
the Zoning By-Laws in order to construct a single family dwelling on the
property located at Zero Condor Road in Reading, Massachusetts. (Case
#98-21)
Board member John Coote was unable to attend this evening and he is
needed for the continuation.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to continue this
Public Hearing to October 15, 1998.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
The next Public Hearing was on the petition of Concord Oil Co., Inc. who
seeks a Variance and/or an Appeal from the Decision of the Building
Inspector under Section(s) 6.2 / Table 6.2.3 / 7.4.2 of the Zoning By-Laws in
order to add more signage to existing sign on the property located at 749
Main Street in Reading, Massachusetts. (Case #98-24)
The petitioner, Bill Leclerc, for Concord Oil Co., Inc., presented to the
Board that his request for a sign was denied. The Building Inspector stated
that the proposal does not conform to the allowable 50 square foot size of a
freestanding sign as Table 6.2.3 allows, and a Variance would need to be
obtained.

After some discussion the petitioner requested to withdraw his request for a
Variance and Appeal from the Decision of the Building Inspector, without
prejudice.
At 7:45PM, a motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to allow
withdrawal without prejudice.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn, and the Board voted
unanimously to do so.
