HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-02-09 Planning Board Annual ReportTO: Planning Board Members FROM: Secretary Re: Issues of Concern to Board Date: February 9, 1981 ANNUAL REPORT Please note the following items which should be corrected in the draft report: Under the key accomplishments note that the Planning Board made use of the word-processing machine at the High School, the Town machine was not made available to us. Also in that paragraph the one page map was the one reproduced and updated The Zoning maps are 39 detailed maps on 35 sheets. In reference to the buffer strip this was Article 51 of the 1980 Spring Town Meeting. The commuter rail section refers to the Central Transpor- tation Planning Staff (MBTA). CTPS is a separate entity and not part of the MBTA and likes to be kept distinct. As regards the permitting of canopies in front yards, this allowance is made for Industrial districts only. Under proposals for new construction, please note that Trancoa property has been reopened for business by Incon, a subsidiary of Transitron. Transitron is also the parent company of Trancoa. Incon produces electronic parts without the volatile chemicals used by Trancoa. This business is a totally different use of the property. MEETING WITH CARL AMON AND OTHERS The meeting will be held at 8:30 PM on Thursday, February 12, 1981. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the rezoning of property presently owned by Gentile and Adams which presently have greenhouses located on these sites. They are seeking a zoning change for high.density housing for either apartments or condominiums. They presently have options on 2 lots of land on Salem Street (Ferrelli property and the one next to it). They hope to obtain access to this development over these 2 pieces of property.
