Chairman B. Mitchel called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM in
Room 191 52 Sanborn Street (.the Community Center), with Board members
E. Childress and F. Orlando present. Also present was Ms. Virginia
Adams of Historical Commission and Mr. Ed Coletta of Reading Chronicle.
Correspondence

Mail was reviewed. Letter from BoardlOf Appeals Re: Wills. property
was discussed, d the secretary w -i;l13 ,obtain the letter from the Conser-
vation Commission to Board of Appeals before responding.
It was also noted that the Fall Town Meeting Warrant close. September
28, 1981.
Finances
Board reviewed encumbered account totalling $250. After some .dis -.
cussion it was decided to ask the BPW how many new reproductive.- -
quality sheets of Zoning Maps would be required before redrawing
the street and lot line;g since 1978.- Costs would then be obtained � f'
for reproductive vellums and mylar masters before deciding on the
final disposition of copying and updating the Zoning Maps.
Also, the Board decided to send a reminder to the French.'s attorney
requesting that they remit the hearing fees in the amount of $80.00
at their earliest possible convenience as this fee is long past due.
Board Membership
Ms. Childress's resignation will take effect September 29, 1981. The
Secretary was requested to send letter? to those candidates that were
interested as per the file. A mutually convenient time for interviews
will be arranged with the Board of Selectmen to appoint the replacement.
West Street Traffic Study
Mr. Lawton from MAPC has reported that the Preliminary Report is ready
and has just received the final sign -offs. A cover letter was being
typed and the reports will be sent to the Planning Board no later than
September 16. A prompt reply from the Town would be appreciated so that
this report can be approved at the October MAPC meeting
Horizon Homes - EIS
Due to illness, Mr. Messina was not present at vtiis- meetingf As the
MAPC representative, he completed and sent the EIS to th.e MAPC on the
Horizon Homes development. A file copy should be obtained. Also
'noted was the EIS on the MBTA fare increases sent in July. A file copy
of this should also be obtained.

Board of Survey — Rules and Regulations revisions
Mr. Orlando reported that =the new revisions to the Board of Survey
Rules and Regulations W-jas-'approved at their August 13, 1981 meeting.
Copies of these handbooks should be obtained as soon as they are
printed.
Mishawum Road j1evelopment
Mr. Foley of Woburn Redevelopment Authority spoke with Ms. Childress
and said the Redevelopment Authority is again advertising for new
development of the tract of.land (appr. 8A) directly across from
Woburn Auto Parts on Mishawum Road. He also stated that the "T"
still plans to build a 500 -car parking lot on this land although
the Woburn officials are trying to insist on a multi -- function com-
plex that would include a parking garage, offices and stores. The
"T" usually goes for
Y g just paved lots.
As the MAPC rep, Ken Messina should ask for the EIS from MAPC on
the "T "'s plans for the Mishawum Road land. He should also try to
obtain an organizational chart of where the EIS is distributed and
all pertinent related materials.
Highland School Study Committee
The Board is in receipt of "Case Study Handbook" on School Building
Reuse from EOCD. The Secretary was requested to distribute a copy
to this study committee for their information.
