Absent: Woody Baldwin, Aloyse Jellison, Lorna Knapp, Betty Knox,
E. Frank Lemaire, John Montgomery, Penny Richards, Jane Soule.
Staff Present: Rheta C. McKinley
Due to lack of a quorum, there was only general discussion pertaining
to Council on Aging business and activities.
Class sessions for the coming year were discussed. Those present
agreed to include a course in calligraphy and a computer course (advanced
and beginner). There have been several requests to again include swimming
sessions. Rheta will look into location and cost.
Rheta reported a surplus of $1,700. in the expense portion of fiscal year
8586 budget and requested permission to spend a portion of it for a
new typewriter or typewriters, depending on cost. After considerable
discussion, it was agreed to purchase a typewriter or typewriters with
the available funds.
Molly Ziegler called Rheta to say that the Council on Aging would stay
in the Community Center for sixty days after other departments leave.
Molly requested a list of special needs and items for Senior Center
renovation:. This should be sent to Tony Fletcher. Dick suggested that
he and Rheta "walk through" the new location before inside work is started
to see if there are any items to be added or deleted.
Summer program schedule was reviewed. A sing-a-long was suggested for
Peter Sanborn Place. Sebastian will check on an accordian player for this
and also music for Cedar Glen program.
