A special brief meeting of the Council on Aging Board was held on Monday,
August 29, 1983.

The meeting as caller; to order to discuss= hoer the 1984 State Council on
Aging Grant from the Department of Elder Affairs should be expended. The
1984 Grant totals `'3,183, up from last year's amount of $2,869. Priorities
for funding under the Council on Aging Grant were determined to be:
1. Continuation of the Friendly Visitor Program, including expansion
of telephone reassurance component, and an increase in the
program coordinator's weekly pay.
2® An increase in hours for the Home Delivered Meals Driver due
to an increase in the number of meals to be delivered each day.

3m Expenses fo7 Council on aging staff to attend the Statewide
Council on 21i~ Conferences. ,
It was pointed out that Reading has not, yet expended all of the 1983
Council : Aging Grant money. Enough funds from the Grant remain to pay
the F Ly Visitor Coordinator for several months. A request will be sent
