The regular meeting of the Council on A81%_ was held on Tuesday April 13, 1982
in -the Community Center and called to order at 8:00 p.m.
Minutes
Motion by Lee Winslow to delete the bottom line on first page of March 23
minutes about reserve funds>
Seconded by Mary Ottino APPROVED
Minutes of "arch 16 meeting were accepted.
f1 Sandy Trainor spoke about reorganization within the Department of health
and what impact that would have on the CoA. They desire to assess the health
needs of the entire community of Readimg. They would like to be able to
communicate with the CoA in the future and work together with us to be able to
meet the total health needs of the senior community. They would like to have
our support at Town Meetin..T - by either calling members or speaking in favor
of the reorganization.
`2 'Rraluations will be submitted by next meetin., Mr.Morley questioned the
le ality of reducing a raise. Mrs. O'Brien gave us authority to ask Town
counsel.
#3 Contract for shoppim- assistance for the van can be terminated by sending
a letter to Mystic Valley Elder Home Care 60 days in advance to terminate.

Strategy for Pown Meeting-Warrant.
There was much discussion and su;gestions on how to cut the budget by
chargin:- seniors a fee for each class and terminating; bus trips. Also to charge
admission to the annual dinner because money is tiEht everywhere.
Compensatory time discussion continued. No one is authorized to work over time.
The work will be done within the hours stated.
45 Arthur Polychrones has resi ned from the CoA due to his new position with
the Department of Public Works, as of April 1:4, 1982.
Motion to accept the resignation of Arthur Polychrones with regret.

A On review of the Van Driver's performance the Board decided to take extra
money in the budget this year to pay for the extra hours accumulated because
of the present schedule overload.
'de will continue the present schedule until the end of Junes when the
summer schedule begins. At that 'time, changes will be made for next years
schedule to alleviate the program.

#7 MOTION - To table the discussion on the preretirement program with the
Library until more information has been gathered

Lee Winslow.

The May Party will be held May 3rd at 11:00 at the Community Center

#9 The rewriting of the Budget will be done by Lee, Rheta and Andy 9:00,
Wednesday May 5.
