Regular Meeting
June 10, 1981
The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held on Jane 10, 1981
in the recreation hall at Tannerville.
The Secretary's report was accepted as rendered.
Mr. Lemaire introduced the new Council on Aging board members, Priscilla
Poehler, Louis Gardner and George Cashman.
Mr. Lemaire reported food for the July 9th cookout would be purchased
and paid for by the Patrons of Older Adults.
Mrs. Oe,5rien gave a verbal report from Town Counsel on the following
items: 1. Title of Director should not be used unless Council on
Aging goes before Town Meeting to authorize position.
2. Honorary.'member (non-voting) no provision for at this time
this should also be presented at Town Meeting.
3. Gifts from charitable organizations: Funds may be accepted
however, it must be done through the Town Treasurer. (The
Clerk was given a copy of ruling on 113).
Motion made seconded and passed: to have Board of Health nurse do health
clinic on the 1st Thursday of the month.
Mrs. McKinley was instructed to proceed:>with hiring teachers for the coming
year. The rate of pay will be the same as FY 80-81. Mrs. McKinley will
also begin writing the "Elderberries" for the coming year.. Mr. Lemaire will
contact the Patrons for Older Adults about assuming mailing costs of the
"Elderberries".
Motion made seconded and passed: outsiders may attend Council on Aging
sponsored classes by paying a fee. This will be at the careful discretion
of Mrs. McKinley.
Motion made seconded and passed: non-residents may go on bus trips only
on a space available basis.
Andy Mulhinch volunteered to chair the Activities Committee. '.He will be
assisted by Arthur Polychrones in planning interesting programs following
lunch on a regular basis.
Motion made seconded and passed: to encumber funds from 80-81 budget for
two busses to go to Boston for Harbor cruise which is sponsored by Boston
Gas. Andy Mulhinch and Arthur Polychrones will discuss date iIith
Mrs. McKinley
John MacDonnell announced the CoA 81-82 budget had been approved by Town
Meeting.

There was a lengthy discussion concerning the use of a tape recorder at
Council or, Aging board meetings.
Motion made seconded and passed: to have Arthur Polychrones purchase a
tape recorder for not more than 75, to be used by the clerk for record-
ing purposes. John MacDonnell opposed.
On behalf of the boards John MacDonnell thanked Frank Lemaire for the
outstanding job he did as Chairman of the Council on Aging.

Mrs. O'Brien gave a verbal report from Town Counsel on the following item:
Honorary member (no-nvoting) no provision for at this
time. This should also be presented at Town Meeting.

December 10, 1980
Arthur Polychrones reported on his conversation with Joe Riemer concern-
ing maintenance of the Van. Due to the fact that Joe used foul language
toward the Council, it was agreed not to work with him at this time. He
reported that the B.P.W. is agreeable to servicing the Council Van every
two months. They will also allow us to purchase oil and gas through them.
VOTED: B.P.W. service Council Van every two months. It must
be left for half a day.

October 21, 1980
Frank Lemaire and Arthur Polychrones met with the Board of Public Works
to discuss maintenance of the Council Van. They will be in touch with
us after they reach a decision.

September 16, 1980
A list of responsibilities and duties for Board members was read by the
Chairman, Mr. Lemaire. Arthur Polychrones and Guy Rennison volunteered
to assume responsibility for proper operation of the Council Van.
