HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-05-13 Council on Aging MinutesCouncil. on Aging Regular meeting may 13, 1981 The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held in the recreation hall at Tanne ille on May 13, 1981 The Secretary's report was accepted as rendered. Mrs. McKinley reported there would be no weekend delivery of meals to homebound elders under the auspices of the "Ecumenical Social Concerns Group". B John MacDonnell read report fromAconmittee to study "title of Director". Considerable discussion followed. It was unanimously voted to refer this to Town. Counsel as suggested by the committee. Selectman Maureen O'Brien did not feel it was necessary to refer it to Town Counsel. Voted! to accept "Friendly Visitor" job de-cription with the following cor- rectionsc watch out for physical and mental changes, also clients may be addressed by their first names if they so desire. Betty Knox offered to assist with the friendly visitors as needed.. Voted; to advertise the position of Meals on Wheels driver to begin on July 6. Mrs. McKinley indicated the Rotary Club might be willing to help fined this position. Mrs. O'Brien will discuss this with Town Counsel. Motion made seconded and passed to allow bus trip on June 17. Mrs. McKinley and Andy Mulhinch will determine the destination. The dates for the summer evening programs are as follows July 9--Cookout Arthur Polychrones and John MadDonnell July 3--"Mime Show" by Rob Perry Betty Knox August 6--Bingo Mary Ottino and Andy Mulhinch August 20--program to be announced. Each member was asked to bring suggestions and ideas for by-laws to next months meeting. After a lengthy discussion concerning absentee board members it was voted to consider allowing the absentee member to cnlo continue as a non-voting member.
