The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held on March 11,
1981 in the Recreation Hall at Tannerville.
The Secretary°s report was accepted as rendered.
Donna Ruth gave a brief report concerning the group planning a weekend
Meals on Wheels program. The name of this group will be "Ecumenical
Social Concerns of Reading".
The committee to clarify the title and job description of Mrs.
McKinley has not had a meeting as of this date.
The budget was discussed at length . Some of the Board members were
upset because money for the bus trips was deleted from the budget.
Harold Wyatt, Eleanor Keating, Andy Mulhi.nch, Arthur Polychrones,
and Donna Ruth feel it should -be -a budget item. Mrs. McKinley ex-
plained why the Finance Committee cut the item as proposed by the
council on Aging. The Finance Committee firmly stated that no money
appropriated is to be used for bus trips.
Mrs. Keating spoke with the Chairman of to Finance. Committee who
said the "expense money could be used any way we want The Board
took no action..
The monthly newsletter is being well received; however, Fred Perry,
editor would like more input from board members, etc.
Eleanor Keating suggested a special meeting to be held to discuss
the grievances and differences of the board members. She would like
to have an executive session without the clerk being present. John
MacDonnell feels executive session would not be appropriate.
It was decidedto have each Board member write out any grievances
and submit them to the Chairman before the board meeting. They will
be discussed at the next meeting.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:50.
Res ectfully submitted,
