Members Present: Woody Baldwin, Rosemary Gibbons, Barbara
Doucette, Gail Rourke, Gladys Cail, Dick Felone, Aloyse Jellison,
Loretta Spaulding, Barbara Ritchie, Gertrude Pool, Ruth Vet-
kovich.
Members Absent: Sebastian Tine
Staff Present: Rheta McKinley
The meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM by Chairman, Woody
Baldwin.
Motion by Gladys Cail, seconded by Aloyse Jellison and voted to
accept minutes of previous meeting.
Financial Report: Motion by Dick Felone, seconded by Gladys Cail
to accept Financial report as read. Motion passed unanimously.
Directors Report: Director's Report was read and Rheta briefly
explained about Insurance purchased by approximately 600 seniors
in which the company gave false and misleading information and
charged exorbitant premiums. She is working with the Insurance
Commissioner's office to try and help these seniors.
Old Business
Advisory council: waiting for the results of the Needs Assess-
ment to set up Advisory Council.
Needs Assessment: After considerable discussion regarding the
high mailing cost of the Needs Assessment,a motion as made by
Aloyse Jellison, seconded by Dick Felone, to postpone the Needs
Assessment until the fall and reactivate at that time. Board
will consider distributing during the Flu clinic. The mailing of
the Needs Assessment has been canceled. Motion passed unanim-
ously.
Volunteer Dinner: The date has been changed and confirmed for
April 27 at 6:00 PM at the Masonic Hall. Donations have been
received towards the cost of the dinner. The menu will be Roast
turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, green beans,
and strawberry shortcake. Eastern Star will cater the dinner.
The Board agreed to invite President of the Patrons of Older
Adults.
Annual Picnic: As we will not awn the Senior Center building at
the time of the picnic, Ruth Cogan, Human Services Director, will
check with the Town Manager, Peter Hechenbleikner, to see if
Peter could get permission from Fafard to use the property for
the picnic. If the Senior Center is not available, Rheta McKin-
ley will check with the schools, perhaps Barrows.
Progressive Lunch: Rheta McKinley will check with Mystic Valley
Elder Services to see if they might provide the food through the

flowers to be presented to her at the party being held at Tanner-
ville. Motion passed unanimously.
Rheta McKinley reminded the Board of the Senior's Prom, Thursday,
April 14 at the Congregational Church, from 3:00 to 6:00. As the
announcement in the newspaper was a little late getting out,
Rheta wanted the Board members to pass the word and try and go as
the youngsters are looking forward to dancing with the seniors.
Arnold Berger will provide refreshments. The van will provide
transportation.
Rheta McKinley advised the Board that the Elders Advocates Spring
Program began in April. She reviewed the different programs
available and passed out sign up forms to those interested.
Meeting adjourned at 6:50 PM.
