Council on Aging
Thy regular meeting of the Council can Aging was held on February
18, 1980 at Tannerville-•. Chairman Harold Wyatt presid-ing.,

1. It was agreed that the use of the =~ulti-wpurpose- Se-niot Center
by outside bodies must be cleared thru and scheduled by the
Council ear Its' Administrative Secretary to avoid. conflicts
and misW-understandings.

2. In considering the requested use of the, van for the x•Iarch 15th
Shaw Bros-..-Cancer fund "fund raiser" it was understood that
the. regular driver was nat going to be availa.bl tla ,s in-
sufficient information about who, how many or to the ,-xtent
of transportation was required it was unanimously moved no_t
to _prmit the vW to be used-:.
3.J3hn Mac Donnell ?proposed, seconded by Larna Knapp and voted
unanimously to raise van fares in town from 250 to 30a-ad'
out of town rides from 500 to 750, effective at once
The proposal of paying for job related courses for the admin-
istrative secretary (Rheta) and the outreach worker (Ruth)
was discussed to refered to the next meeting. The idea was
favored but questions as to whether it was in the budget or-
could. Mr. Agnew arrange to have sums transfe ,ed fro,r the.,
educational supplies account ? It was suggested that they
determine what_ courses and the costs of the courseo that that'
are 1 nte-re ted in.
5. Darold spoke oT the possibility of developing a spirit and t:
reward the volunteerJ workers at the ;peal site, and the nco-o e
who deliver: Alc~_:, on wheels. There'-may be twenty to thirty

made: a motion, seconded by J.-)hn, Mac Donnell, that Rheta's
rate be, incre sed from 3.,89/hr. to 4.50/hr., unanimous
vote.. Consid=erable discussion foiloTvied, concerning reports
of talks with Mr,. or-l r of the Personnel Boa.rd., Finance
Commi tee and ethers. Andew Mulhinch said "we shca uld have
some by--laws"

longer ' have control of the funds that . contributed to teals on Whesls~
Ungreg ,te Meals, the renovation of the Center and other services,
and Reading; and associated towns and cities would be grouped with
two structed organization with the cities of Chelse as Cambri.dga,
Somerville, cvare and Wiathrop. A dissenting letter was read
and CUE Lorna maAe a notion to send a letter for the Council.
