Council on Aging
The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held on Mon-
day, May 21, 1979, at 7:30 in the recreation fall at Tanner-
ville.
The Secretary°s report was accepted as rendered.
Where will be no summer edition of "Elderberries" due to the
high cost of postage, printing, etc.
Mr. Tennison announced our Meal program is under by 635 meals.
A bus trap with a picnic at Willard Brook State Park and then
on the the Cathedral of The Pines will be held on June 20 is
being planned. The Board approved this trap. The picnic
lunches will be provided by Malden Action which will use up
some of our extra meals.
The Summer Program was discussed. Council ?hoard Members signed
up to serve as Chairman for the evening. Those members who
have not committed themselves to one of these evenings are asked
to do so.
Dates and Frog rams are as follows
June 28--Cookout with entertainment by "The Crystal Belles" of
Wakefield. Co-Chairmen--Jay Dumas and Harold Wyatt
July 2--mango with Cheese and Crackers---Guy Tennison and Frank
Lemaire are Co-Chairmen
Jule 26---Cookout with lawn games--Mlary Ottino, Chairman
August 9---Tie and Ice Cream--k1rs. McKinley will check with Dr.
Blanchard about having the Bagpipe group entertain on this date.
John vfacDonnell is Chairman for the evening.
. ugust 23--ice Cream Smorgasbord with a fVlovie---Lorna Knapp,Chairman
This schedule is tentative and hopefully will be finalized by
the next meeting.
Mrs. McKinley will contact Officer Paul Vallee to have the
Explorer Group help with the Summer Programs.
A motion made and seconded to purchase two new kilns to be used
for the Ceramics Classes at a cost of approximately $312.50 each,
and an air conditioner for the Council on Aging office. Cost
not to exceed 400.00
Muth Turnquist, Senior Aide with Mystic Valley Elder Home Care,
Inc. who works out of the Council on Aging office explained
the services she performs for the Elderly in Reading.
Meeting adjourned at 9:OO.
