Council on Allying
The regular meeting of he Council of Aging was held on Mondayp
July 188 1977 at. 7:30 in the recreation hall at Tannervi.lle.
It was voted to accept the secretary's report of the July 11th
emergency meeting. The treasurer's repo._ was accepted as $26,800.
On the motion made by :Jay Dumas it was voted to appoint Frank Jae xazre
as `ice-Chairman of the Council on Aging. The Congretato Heals Pro-
gram f,.ras C?iscus-"SeCJ^.,"^aPPrf7xiY?ately 30 t?i:Jals are served 'c'ash day, it
is hoped that more seniors will participate in the program. The
Council van is available for transportation to the lunch program, how-
ever only one or two are using it, at the present time. It was deeded
that Florence E&relli ( -C'utreach Yorker) and the Site Manager

The Board reviewed the Fall schedule of classes, It was wu, gested
the CJanr'L{g class be continued because it is so popular. ~ Louanis
stated she would lie to s the Homemaking Class starter "_an,, '°si:s.
McKinley was asked to try to locate a teacher for the class and check
"vv:Lth the other teachers about returning in the Fall, "Elderberries"
will be going out the end of August.
Mr, Benison} thanked Jay Dumas for the program by the Reading High School
Music Group for the summer program on July 24th. The secretary was then
instructed to write to Dr. Tells expressing our thanks to Mr, Oliver and,
this fine group,
The July 27th cookout was discussed, Mrs. Verna Lantz is Chairman. There
will be a concert by the Wakefield Retired aye 's B"n who will be bringing
their wives. Mrs. Lantz is going to check r^Tith Walter Smith of the Patrons
for Older Adults and Mr. Tennison will checks with Mrs. Virginia Hodson about
providing food for the band members an their wives.

Mr. enn7 S{,'n informed the Council of a Title !I! grant available
to us thxough Hystic Valley Elder Home Care which could be used
toward the purchase of a new van, We should have matching funds
of 25% and the telephone and office will do this for vs.
Jay Dumas ;made a motion to submit Title III application for money
to be used toward purchase of new Van,
