Nathalie C. Beaton at 7:35 P,M. with the following members present, in addition to the Chairman: Tars. C. Verna Lantz, Mrs. Elizabeth ouanis, Reverend Frederick Enrich and. Mrs. Jeanne .rube; forming a quo.°rum. Mrs* Marion Tymi nski, the Executive director, was also present. On motion duly made and seconded., it was unanimously: VOTE : To accept the Secretary's report of the previous meeting, copses of which had been mailed to all, Council members. Mrs, Beaton read to the meeting a letter of resignation from Mrs. Tyminski, and upon motion duly made and, accepted., it was unanimously: : To accept with regret the resignation of Mrs. Marion C. Tyminski as Executive Director and. Secretary of the Council on aging effective March 29: 1974. Mrs. Seaton announced that the Visiting Nurse, Mrs. Marion Thompson, will now be in the office at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive from 2:40 - WOO P.M. on every Thursday afternoon for personal health consultations instead of at the Community Center. Miss Virginia Cent, a representative of Blue Cross, will be in the Recreation ?doom at Tannerville on Saturdays April 6 and. 20 from 9:00 t6 10:00 A.M. to answer questions the elderly might have on Medicare, Medex and related subjects. It was ddecid.ed that for the time being the Van would operate on the same schedule, except that if the Van is available and 24 hours notice: is given, an elderly person may be taken 10 an appointment, or on a personal: errand in Reading or its Immediate vicinity, provided the Van is not otherwise occupied at the time. For Reading trips the charge:would be 15 cents one way and 5 cents round trip. Mrs. Beaton described. Ater discussion and upon motiop duly made by Mrs. Dube`and seconded, it was unanimously: A ; T, hat if it was decided to do this, the Council would: send out this mailing under its own bulk mailing permit; that the fed Cross would pay one half the cost and the Council the other half; and Wat the Council would in- clude an extra issue of the "11 darbexx.`i ss" newsletter which could be inserted at no extra cost. On motion duly rude by Mrs. Lantz and secone it was unanimouslya VOTED; To accept the financial report of mire. Tyminski in the absence o ir, Stratton, the Treasurer, showing K balance of $9,686.84 in our 18-month budget, and reporting that to date we have re- turned to the Town $127.75 collected from pares from the Van, On emotion duly made by 4zr, Emrich and seconded, it was unanimously: ?~Ci` &Dt To accept the Budget of $179470.00 approved, by the Finance Committee and voted at the Town Meeting March 18, The budget is for the year July 1, 197 to June 30, 1975, Mrs. Louanis announced that the Council trips this year will be, June 5 - Nov.ck's in Millis, Bus will leave the Church of the Good Shepherd at 10:00 A.M. On motion duly made by Mrs. Lantz and seconded, it was unanimously$ VOTED: That the meeting go into Executive Session. Mrs. Tyminski left the meeting at this time, Mrs. Beaten presented the names of twenty applicants far the position of Secretary to the Council as the result of an advertisement in the Reading Chronicle.
