Regular Meeting, Jan.28, 1974
The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held on Jan.28,
1974 at 7®30 P.M. in the Fecreation Building of the Housing for the
Elderly, 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive, Reading, ?bass.
In the absence of dirs. Beaton, Mrs. C. Verna Lantz, Chairman pro-
tem called the meeting to order with the following members of the
Council forming a quorum, Mr§t Edith Sias, 'hrs. Elizabeth Louanis, Mr.
Donald Farnham, Reverend Frederick Emrich, and Mrs. Jean Dube,# Mr,
Luigi J. Sablone and Mrs, Marian Tyminski were also present.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously<
VOTED-. To accept the Secretary®s report of the December 12, 197'3
meeting.
Due to the absence of firs Charles Stratton, the Treasurer there
was no Treasurer's report.
:fir. Luigi J. Sablone appeared before the Council and explained
his duties as driver of the Van. It was the opinion of the Council
after this discussion that the Van could be used more economically.
Mrs, C. Verna Lantz suggested that the Buzzer Alma system that she
had looked into a possibility for use in the Van would be too costly
for the usage it would receive. Rev. Emrich suggested the purchase of
an answering recorder than: put on our own phone. This will, be looked
into.
Mr. Donald Farnham recommended that the hours of the Council on
Aging be changed from 1:00 to 3;00 P.M. afternoons to the mornings as
soon as possible.
A theatre party to the Chateau De Ville was discussed but it was
felt that it was too costly an afternoon.

town abo°at our program.. Reverend Emrich suggested that a column in
the Cho.icle every week written by a Senior Citizen might bring the
programs closer to the elderly. It was felt that all, programs should
be open to all elderly and not just to the residents of Tannerville.
Tars. Sias suggested that she might get some of her volunteers to meet
at the Community Center on Friday afternoons.
