HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-12-11 Council on Aging MinutesCOUNCIL ON AGING Regular Meetj4_ng hod d on Decembe- 11, 1972 The reg?.Ja_r meeting of the Council (changed from December 2"th to December 11) was called. to order by the Cairman, Mrs, Beaton,.=-at 1..00 P.Mg, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. In addition to the Chairman those present were: Reverend Emrich, Mr. Farnham, Mrs. Loua.nis, Mr. Stafford, Mrs. Lantz and. Mrs. Sias. Upon motion duly made by Mrs. Sias and seconded, it was unanimously: VOTED: To include in the proposed budget for the eighteen months beginning January 1g 1973, $200.00 for flu shots (serum only), but to eliminate requesting anything for home care services, such services to be referred to the Nort'-).!'c,.ropolitan Homemaker Health Aid Service located in the Continuing Care Unit of the Winchester Hospital, and to be paid for by the individuals using the services. Mrs Beaton read her letter, that she will include with the budget explaining the Council requests. After considerable discussion on various sizes and costs of buses available and upon motion duly made by Reverend Emrich and seconded, it was unanimously: VQTEB: To request a capital expenditure of the Town of $4,000.00 to be used for the purchase of a 12 passenger minibus. At this time Mrs Murphy of the Combined Visiting Nurse Association arrived and explained what she would like to se included in the Health Program. She would like to make it possible that if not enough elderly came to the office the Visiting Nurse would be able to go out into the homes of the elderly. She would also like to see the Homemaker Service Funds included in the budget in the future. Mrs. Murphy will prepare a general summary of the program for Mrs. Beaton to present to the Board of Health before their January Meeting. Mrs. Beaton thanked. Mrs. Murphy for comming to our meeting and continued the business. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously: VOTED: To decrease the Knitting Class Instructors fee to $10.00 fns ead of $12.50 to bring it into line with the top fees paid to the other instructors, Upon motion duly made and seconded,it was unanimously: vn`71-1e To submit a totalOperatang Budget to the Finance Committe of--~22,777.j0 for the eighteen months from January 1,1973 to June 30, 197 in accordance with the detailed budget attached and to be considered part of these minutes. Where being no further business and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously: VOTED: To adjourn the meeting at 3:oo P.M''.
