meeting of the Council O Aging was held on Wnesd r, January 23*
1972, at Q30 P. Y. at the Recreation, Room of the Housing for the Elderly.
The meeting was called to order by Vs. Beaton, the chairman, ;Those

and Ws. Sias, Louanis, Pierce and Lantz

WK Sias reported on her visitation program, saying that she and so

Mrs. Beaton talked O: no Donald Strong about the X)o grant from
the state for which the Council had, applied, and she slid he felt that
it will be a reality soon.. He also informed her that the state was
reorganising; its services to the el.aeily, and that 250,000 has been
appropriated for a health program on, a regional basis. Our regional office
will possibly be in Lovell. Such a program will be less expensive to
operate. Funds would be allocated to the region as whole rather than to
individual towns. She understood that a speaker would come to tell us more
about it in t: near future.
:ears. Beaton reported that Mr. "arses Campbell, Necutive Director of
the Council on Aging in n arbill provides a food service to the elderly
where the teals are prepared at a local nursing home and transported to their
Senior Citizen's venter where they are served at a cost of seventy-five
cents per person. Be invited those interested to coma to visit and Ta;rtake
of the meal at their own expense. Several people volunteered to o on
T ersday, January 31st. He also told her they have a paid driven who apes
and provides transportation for the elderly at a fee of t Y eoli"rs

The Community Program was then discussed, It seems that all is going
well except for the Variety"craft Class where there is some criticism and

made in the fall.
Ets. Louanis informed the. meeting that a committee from St. Agnes Church
had approached her regarding a dinner they would like to provide for the
Senior Citizens in Father lee Hall on the last Sand in April. It was felt
that this would be very much appreciated,

increased from four to five cents per copy. She feels there should be a copy
of same mailed around ori,l, 1st telling of the change in the pr a;r um at that
time.
Wief discussion followed concerning whether or not we should ask for
contribut:b sus for our programs from the various organizations in tow, This
was not resolved.
