MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 6, 1992
The meeting was called to order by Don Farnham at 7:05 PM.
Those in attendance were M. Cowell, D. Farnham, R. Grasso, and R. Sanstad.
General discussion took place regarding what specifically should be
presented to Town Meeting in November. Although no formal vote was
taken, there was a consensus that being a Committee of Town Meeting, we
should take our direction from them. We would present them with various
options regarding school expansion and renovation. The plans would be
entirely predicated on receiving funding from Town Meeting or other
sources. Final conclusion of the matter was deferred until a future
meeting.
A review of the most recent (Feb '91) Ensminger School Population
Projection was held. It was noted that, in order to go forward for state
assistance, the projection must go out ten years. The current revision
goes out eight years.
Action: R. Sanstad to contact Dan Ensmingdr and request him to update
the report to go out through the year 2003.
Discussion took place regarding both the size and make-up of our current
committee. We are now down to five members with a significant task
ahead of us. It was agreed that we would enlist associate (non-voting)
members to assist and complement the current group.
Action: R. Sanstad to contact former Selectman Russ Graham and current
FinCom member Nate White to solicit their participation. D. Farnham to
contact the four Principals of the elementary schools and request their
PTO organizations select one individual from each to represent their
school. It is our intent to recommend to Town Meeting that these six
additional individuals become permanent members of the School Building
Committee with full voting rights.
The School- Building Committee will meet every Tuesday evening until
further notice.
The agenda for the October 13th meeting is attached.
These minutes are respectfully submitted by R. Sanstad.
