Cowell, R. D'Antona, D. Farnham, R. Graham, R. Grasso, J. Lupi, B. Poock, R. Sanstad and D. Williams. Present from Design Partnership of Cambridge were D. Finney and J. Pierson. R. Sanstad reviewed the results of a meeting the previous week with M. Cummings, R. Davidson, D. Farnham, D. Finney, Dr. R. Munnelly and J. Pierson. The subject was the future interface between the concerned parties during the design and construction phase of the elementary schools project. Briefly, the SBC will provide oversight to the projects to ensure original intent is satisfied. During our review of that meeting, it was suggested that we ( the SBC ) review the original T/M motion to ensure that this is within our charter. Sanstad will bring this document to the next meeting for discussion. D. Finney presented the single middle school concept to the group. After considerable discussion of all the advantages and disadvantages, a position was established by the group. A motion was made, and seconded, as follows; "The School Building Committee does not recommend the single middle school concept as it would be in direct conflict with community needs and desires." After further discussion, the motion carried by a vote of 8-0 in favor. (B. Poock had left and was not present for the vote.) R. Sanstad was asked to present this position to the School Committee at their meeting on May 17, 1993. The next meeting will be at Town Hall on June 8, 1993. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.
