MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 8,1993
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM.
Those in attendance were: M. Cowell, R. D'Antona, J. Delaney (Principal,
Parker Middle School) D. Farnham, Architect D. Finney, R. Graham, R.
Grasso, P. O'Leary, R. Sanstad and D. Williams.
R. Sanstad briefed the group on the progress to date of the Elementary
projects. Meetings have been held at both schools with the faculties to
receive their input regarding project details. Sanstad also circulated the
draft minutes, published by Dr. Munnelly, of the coordination meeting he
attended on May 6th which addressed the roles and responsibilities of the
various groups as the two Elementary projects go forward.
D. Finney presented the first pass of the new Ed Specs for Parker Middle
School. The committee reviewed and discussed these in great detail with
Finney and Delaney. Finney then presented two options for the expansion
effort at Parker which also generated considerable discussion. No vote
was taken on either item and will be discussed in more detail after staff
input is received on June 22nd.
The committee reviewed our input to be presented at the School
Committee meeting scheduled for June 14th. Again, although no formal
vote was taken, the strong sense of the group was that we could only
recommend and support the concept of creating a 600 student Parker
Middle School and maintain Coolidge at its present capacity. This message
will be passed on to the School Committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 PM.
The next meeting of the School Building Committee will be held at Town
Hall on Wednesday, June 30, 1993, at 730 PM.
