Police Station Building Committee
November 20, 1997
The Committee met in the Conference Room at the Fire Station, Main Street, Reading,
Massachusetts at 7:45 p.m. Present were Chair Paul Dustin, Committee members Jack
Russell, Edward Marchand, Eric Jason Smith, Robert Cavagnaro, James Cormier, and
Mike DeBrigard, also present were FinCom Liaison Richard McDonald, Brett Donham
from Donham & Sweeney Inc. and Paul French from Daedalus Projects Inc. Town
Meeting member Virginia Adams and Officer Bob Silva also attended.
On motion by James Cormier seconded by Edward Marchand the Police Station Building
Committee unanimously accepted the submitted Minutes of the November 3, 1997,
meeting.
Board of Selectmen: Paul Dustin reported on the his meeting with the Board of
Selectmen. They submitted a list of Issues for Police Station Planning. The Selectmen
would like copies of all paperwork. A representative of Daedalus Projects Inc. Will attend
all future Board of Selectmen meetings.
Parking Spaces: There will be a minimum of 35 parking spaces at the new Police Station
Building.
Schematics: Architect Brett Donham, Donham & Sweeney Inc., will submit schematics at
the December 8, 1997, meeting. He anticipates they will be of the room layout and site
layout. He will make a model after the survey is completed and submit it at the December
22, 1997, meeting.
Brett Donham submitted the first draft of the Space needs Summary of the Police Station.
Any changes should be given to James Cormier by November 26, 1997.
Paul Dustin will be unable to attend the December 2, 1997, Board of Selectmen meeting.
Jack Russell will take his place.
The next Police Station Building Committee meeting will be December 8, 1997, in the
Conference Room at the Town Hall.
On motion by Jack Russell seconded by Robert Cavagnaro the Police Station Building
Committee voted to adjourn their meeting at 9:00 p.m. by a vote of 7-0-0.
