Richard Marks and Brett Donham met with members of the Police Department to review their specific building needs. The result of this meeting is a third draft with a total of 19,003 sq. ft. This allows for some future expansion space. Richard Marks stated that the 19,003 sq. ft. can not be reduced any further without serious compromise. Brett Donham presented the Committee with six schemes. The schemes have not been reviewed by the Police Department. Jim Cormier asked.. that the. locker_ room or_ fitness. room. not be. reduced_ if the basement is reduced. These two rooms were reduced during the last review. The Police Station Building Committee preferred Plan Option C 1. This plan has the fan room on the third floor with a total of 24,592 sq. ft. The cost of this plan would be closer to $4.1 million or $4.3 million. The Committee will compare the cost of a full basement with a slab, eliminating some of the expansion space. Plans to inform the Town of the current construction costs and space requirements are being considered. The Police Station Building Committee is trying to build the most cost efficient building possible and still allow for growth at least 25 years into the future.
