TOWN OF READING
COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
MINUTES AUGUST 24. 1992
A meeting of the Community Planning and Development Commission of
the Town of Reading was held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of
the Town. Hall., 16 Lowell Street in Reading, Massachusetts on
August 24, 1992. In attendance were Jonathan Barnes, Chair; and
Members William Goodrich, and Thomas Stohlman. Also present was
Town Planner Jonathan Edwards. The meeting was called to order
at 8:07 PM.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
The minutes of the Commission's meeting of August 3, '1992 were
accepted.
APPROVAL-NOT-REQUIRED SUBDIVISION PLANS
Upon presentation by Mr. Edwards with recommendations from him-
self and the Town Engineer, the Commission took the following ac-
tion regarding ANR Plans:
1. The Commission voted 3:0 to approve a motion made by Mr.
Stohlman, seconded by Mr. Goodrich, to endorse a Plan of Land at
Walnut and Curtis Streets, dated August 7, 1992, and so endorsed
the plan;
2. The Commission voted 3:0 to approve a motion made by Mr.
Stohlman, seconded by Mr. Barnes, to endorse a Plan of Land on
Lowell Street, adjacent to the railway tracks, dated August 20,
1992, and so endorsed the plan;
3. The Commission voted 3:0 to approve a motion made by Mr.
Stohlman, seconded by Mr. Goodrich, to refuse to endorse a Plan
of Land on Sunnyside Avenue, dated July 20, 1992 for the follow-
ing reasons:
existing property lines not indicated,
-bearings and distances not complete,
-improper signature block provided,
-zoning district not indicated,
-easement lines not dimensioned.
MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
A brief discussion was held concerning the proposed
PUD/biotechnology zoning amendments, particularly concerning the
references in the model Worcester by-law to National Institutes
''of Health documents and standards.
A brief discussion was held concerning the Spring Town-Meeting
Instructional Motion concerning sight distances at street inter-
sections. The Commission decided to ask staff to explore the
matter and report back so that the Commission may make At least a
preliminary presentation to Fall Town Meeting.

ADJOURNMENT
At 9:50 PM amotion was made and seconded to adjourn and the Com-
mission voted unanimously to do so.
