was held in the Lecture Hall, Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road in Reading,
Massachusetts on June 17, 1996. In attendance were Brian Irwin, Chair; Members Jonathan
Barnes, Susan DeMatteo, and Richard Howard. Also present were Town Planner Jonathan
Edwards and Town Engineer Joseph Delaney. The meeting was called to order at 7:39PM.
ADULT-USE BY-LAW
Mr. Edwards introduced proposed by-law language, and read each section. CPDC's questions
and comments, and public questions and comments, were made and addressed.
The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Ms. DeMatteo, to
recommend Article 1 as modified this evening to the Board of Selectmen for placement on the
warrant of a special or subsequent Town Meeting.
The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Barnes, to
recommend Article 2 to the Board of Selectmen for placement on the warrant of a special or
subsequent Town Meeting.
The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Barnes, to
recommend Article 3 to the Board of Selectmen for placement on the warrant of a special or
subsequent Town Meeting.
The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Barnes, to
recommend Article 4 as modified this evening to the Board of Selectmen for placement on the
warrant of a special or subsequent Town Meeting.
The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Barnes, to
recommend Article 5 as written, to the Board of Selectmen for placement on the warrant of a
special or subsequent Town Meeting.
Mr. Howard and Mr. Irwin stated that should the Board of Selectmen vote affirmatively on the
above matters that a Public Hearing will be held on July 15, 1996 at 7:30PM concerning these
articles.
ADJOURNMENT
At 10:35PM a motion was made and seconded to adjourn and the Commission voted unanimously
to do so.
