HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-08-12 Community Planning and Development Commission MinutesTOWN OF READING CONEVIUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION M P 4 C S_v MINUTES OF AUGUST 12, 1996 A meeting of the Community Planning and Development Commission of the Town of Reading was held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street in Reading, Massachusetts on August 12, 1996. In attendance were Bryan Irwin, Chair; and Members Susan DeMatteo, Richard Howard and Michael Flammia. Also present were Town Planner Jonathan Edwards and Town Engineer Joseph Delaney. The meeting was called to order at 7:3 IPM. Mr. Edwards discussed with the Commission requests from Mr. Mistry and Mr. Larkin regarding potential rezoning. The Commission gave its approval for these to be heard by CPDC at 8PM on August 19, 1996. BOND REDUCTION REQUEST: ROMA LANE Mr. Delaney recommends reduction of $9800. from $15,800. to $6,000. The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Flammia, to move such reduction as per Town Engineer recommendation of 8/12/96. SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS - REVISIONS CPDC members walked through latest changes one at a time. Put on Agenda at 9PM on 9/30/96. CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING BROOKS - 25 HAVEN STREET George Hines and Ted Cohen presented legal explanations for CPDC consent to Repetitive Petition and status of Brooks' interest in the property. Phil Pacino of RMLD Board requested CPDC approval. The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Flammia, to close the Public Hearing. The Commission voted 4:0 to approve a motion by Mr. Howard, seconded by Mr. Flammia, to give its consent to the Repetitive Petition of PJC Realty Company for a Special Permit for premises at 25 Haven Street, formerly occupied by the RMLD subject to review, approval, and execution of the amendment to the P&S and of the letter to ZBA and CPDC dated 8/12/96 by the Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Light Board prior to the 8/15/96 meeting of the ZBA. The Commission decided to keep the 9/16/96 meeting open for Zoning Articles. ADJOURNMENT At 10:39PM a motion was made and seconded to adjourn and the Commission voted unanimously to do so.
