10:50 Order of Conditions, Carriage Estates Phase II, DEP #
270-236, RGB# 1991-10. The Commission was concerned
with:
- The lack of sub-surface investigation
- Cracking of the bedrock during blasting and the
potential for aquifer contamination
- The potential to drain the wetlands via the
sewer line
- The impact of the road crossing on the adjacent
wetlands
The Commission requested information on the intended
blasting techniques and the extent of possible
fractures in consideration of the impact on wetlands
hydrology and the possibility of contamination to the
aquifer. The Commission also wants an investigation of
the alleged on-site dumping. The general displacement
of wildlife is also a consideration.
The Commission is not satisfied that the developer has
shown that the stream crossing is the only viable
alternative. They have not gone to CPDC to request an
extension of the cul-de-sac.
