Clifton Proctor; and Conservation Ad- ministrator Donald Nadeau ABSENT: Vice-Chair Camille Anthony, Joan Nickerson, Associate Members Leo Kenney and Jennifer Miksen 7:05 PM The meeting was called to order. J. Biller thanked the subcommittees for their work over the past year. The ad- ministrator gave his report. 7:40 J. Keigley announced his appointment to the Finance Com- mittee, and expressed his regrets that by law he can no longer serve as an associate member on the Conservation Commission. J. J. Lach- mayr requested that Mr. Ogren stamp the letter. D. Nadeau stated that the Order requires that certain conditions con- tinue with the Certificate. Motion made and seconded to issue a Partial Certificate of Compliance for Lot 10 (Lot B) Kurchian Lane, DEP# 270-222, RGB# 1990-23 with conditions, once a corrected stamped let- ter from Peter Ogren is received. VOTED 5-0-0 The Commission instructed the administrator to issue the Certificate upon receiving a corrected letter, and agreed to schedule future requests on Kurchian Lane lots with as little as one week's notice. J. Biller reported that the Board of Selectmen, at its meeting held on June 30, awarded Alex Svirsky the Public Service Award for his Eagle Scout project work with the Conservation Commission. Alex Svirsky and Will Laut- senheiser then presented to the Commission a hand--cut relief map of the Town of Reading, suitable for display. The map was built by layering foam board cut to the topographic contours of the 1937 USGS map of the Town, and physically shows the hills and valleys of the Town. It's highest point (Dobbins Hill) stands about three inches tall- Reading Co e vation Commission minute of 07-08-92 Pale 2 The Commission voted and instructed the administrator to issue a letter of congratulations and deep appreciation to Alex and Will for the gift of the model, and to set up a loan program with the Library and the Sigh School. 8:02 R!-auestfar Extension ermits , Batchelder Estates DEP# 2_ )-202 , R 1989-19 Motion made and seconded to grant Extension Permits for one year to August 2, 1998 for Batchelder Estates, DEP# 270- 202, RGB# 1989--19. VOTED 5--0-0 Reading Medical C rater, DEE'# 270-20t), RGB# 1989-1 the Com- mission reviewed a letter from the administrator to the construction company, which found that a proposal to move a portion of the medical center building 12 feet was within the parameters allowed by the Commission in its Order. J. Biller stated for the record that it was the sense of the Commission that the filing was a unique situation that was historical in nature, and should not interfere with the ap- plication of the present regulations requiring a 25 ft. Zone of Natural Vegetation. The Commission instructed the administrator to post site visits for 70 Whittier Road and then Haverhill Street Plat 166, lot 15 for Saturday, July 18 at 9:00 AM. 8:45 Request for Partial Cer-ti- ficate of Compliance. Stone Well_ Road Phase I, DEP# 270-221 RG3# 199U- 22 Sandy and Beth Ann Matathia were present. D. Nadeau reported that, he had performed a series of inspections and the area was stabi- lized and in conformance. He reported that the Engineering Division had not yet completed a new confirmation of the as-built, but had inspected the detention area earlier at his request. J. Lachmayr noted that the as--built plans and statement were stamped by a certified R. P. E.. and that was acceptable. Motion made and seconded to issue a Compliance, Stone Well Road Phase 1990-22 with the Conditions specified to continue. 9:11 Motion made and seconded to adjourn.
