• December 14t` Minutes Amended (names only) and approved 7-0
• Issues: Mark presented a very nice showing a trail and zones for easy reviewing
Talk of using stone dust for trails
° Dave felt the fire roads in the town forest were in good shape and maintained by Board of
Public Works
• Discussion: 1) On loops off Main trails needs to be accessible for everyone
Mark spoke of NO Trail in Sec. H
Do we need to make trails (projects for Boy Scouts?)-maybe
Kim spoke on Names of areas
Virgina Adams from the Historical committee was present and spoke on different names
Group needs to look into naming areas such as Divendence Meadows, etc. 100 acres
Mrs. Adams spoke that we should try and leave area as natural as possible
Maybe medal tags on trees for markers
By naming areas people may do more research on that area
Talk that the Cranberry Dam maybe Folk Law
• Will: Spoke that the Boy Scouts are interested in doing a trail from Haverhill St. to the log
cabin (Cris Bosco)
Talk on bridges in areas and getting permits
Conservation Committee is looking into get a Blanket permits under there committee
Should all Broadwalks be the same?
Again talk on use of log cabin and area
Talk on trying to put cost together
• Town is working with R.E.I. this was mentioned in the Recreation Booklet
• Dave mentioned that we should stay away from talk on cabin and more about the land around it
• Discussion on the trails already at Bare Meadows
Talk on trails close to private property and use of Old Sanborn Lane
It was mentioned that all information should be out in the open
• Talk on crossing Main St. were and how
I.E. Short St. to Cabin
Mill St. to Pearl to Bare Meadow
Lights above crosswalks
The importance of getting across Main St. safely
Cost of loops - accessibility- fishing points
Parking areas
• Signage should be of ONE symbol only (One symbol per marker)
• Talk of adopting an island
Discussion of Costs:
1. Boarding was $35.00 per len. FT
2. Dave W. was going to talk to Lexington about cost of Park Ways
3. A lot of talk on costs of Signage (Trail markings) material for path ways.
4. Up-keep of fire roads
5. Frank found out the cost of a trail is length times width times depth divided by 27 equals cubic
yards cubic yards times 1.75 equals tons stone dues is about $10.00 per ton - 2007 price
