Ad Hoc Northern Area Greenway Task Force Town Hall Conference Room July 26, 2007 Minutes _ cT 0u`1'2 I I' Attendance: Joan Hoyt, Dave Williams, Fred Alexander, Will Finch, Brant Ballantyne, Mark Rumizen, Kim Honetschlager Absent: Charles Donnelly Moran The meeting was called to order at 7:34 PM. Issues discussed: • Scope of Colin's project in Bare Meadow • Length of bog bridging in Bare Meadow • Additional Scout project to take place in Town Forest (Pine Ridge Trail) • Possibility of completion of Chris Bosco's boardwalk in Alligator Alley by other Scouts, FoRR or Timberland. • Marking and measuring trails from Log Cabin to Bare Meadow and Marion Woods. • Marion Woods section near Haverhill - may be too wet for bog bridging. Will to measure trails in Marion Woods. • Brant to mark and measure Log Cabin to Bare Meadow and determine grade from parking area to beginning of trail • Fred and Joan to measure Bare Meadow • Main fire road should be measured from water treatment plant to base of Pine Ridge trail, and old pump house to Scout ring through woods to new boardwalk - Mark and Dave to walk. • Routes should not just be measured, but also assessed for improvement needs (bridging) • Zone H would be best assessed by Heather • Mark to assess A&B • Dave to assess H1, G, and F • Demolition of Water Treatment Plant and its effect on greenway - our requirements should be clear when plan for demolition is implemented by the Town. Speak with John Fuedo • Kiosk near water treatment plant - no disturb is 25' • Holding tanks will be removed • More research into grant applications - spreadsheet of grants with 6-8 options - all NAG members should work on investigating grants. • Partners like Timberland, Terrydyne, REI, Youth Conversation, Ipswitch River Watershed Association • List of optional items - fishing pier at Lobs Pound, viewing platform at Bare Meadow, kayak launch near water treatment plant • Places to sit at intervals in accessible portions of trails (possible Scout project) Next meeting Thursday, September 6th at 7:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned 8:45 pm Respectfully submitted Fred Alexander r-,
