Absent: Fred Alexander, Frank Driscoll
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM.
• Committee address the remaining items in tenure:
o Town Forest trail detail
o Trail surface treatment
o ADA compliance
o Fire & safety access
• KH said that the Town has received the grant for the boardwalk feasibility study.
• Mike informed the committee that the TF roads are maintained by cutting back
the encroaching vegetation. Minimal work is performed to the surface itself, such
as filling in low spots with gravel and crushed stone and occasionally rebuilding
roadway sections.
• Mike suggested two means of providing a durable surface:
o Roma pack, which was used at the log cabin, is a mixture of stone dust,
sand, and 3/4" stone - the cost is about $8 per ton.
o Processed gravel, which is the base material at the compost area, is a
mixture of reclaimed roadway base course gravel - the DPW has ample
amounts the material after each paving project.
• Mike said Town pavers can only pave left, right, or full roadway sections. Paving
down the center only is not feasible.
• The Town Engineer can make an ADA compliance determination if requested.
• The Committee needs to think about what Town group should take over for NAG.
