NORD STRAND SECRETARY PRO-TEM TOWN OF READING 16 LOWELL STREET READING,, MA 01867-2693 FAX: 781-942-9037 BOARD OF ASSESSORS 781-942-9027 TO: The Reading Board of Assessors FROM: David Billard, MAA DATE: 01 /24/2006 REF: Appraiser's Report irrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrâ–  1. Applications for abatement filed to date total 26. We have handed out approximately 32 applications. We seem to be running about 26% less than we did last year at this same time. 2. We have received a request from the Division of Local Services for an LA3 submission for FY2006 EQV. We have run the report and are checking the submission for accuracy. The BOA can sign this in the next few weeks. The filing - deadline is February 27, 2006. 3. I have received two quotes for, the personal property recollection'/ identification for Walkers Brook Crossing. The respondents were CLT and Vision. Both declined a quote submission. I have been talking with Brian Pelletier and Chris Natale of RRC, who needed clarification before they drew up a quote. Their bid, which we will receive by January 27, 2006, will probably be less than $2,000. I am hying to coordinate these inspections with David Carey's Inspections of these properties. 4. We have downloaded and printed the first group of building permits for FY2007, those permits issued between 06/22/2005 through 12/20/2005. There were 520 permits. 5. I received a call on January 20, 2006 from Vincent McGugan asking for a continuance of his February 2, 2006 ATB appeal due to health reasons. If the Board is amenable, a rescheduling to June 6, 2006 is being sought. 6. I have gotten a call from Attorney Saliba relative to the three appeals he represents. We have received the withdrawal forms for 1330 Main Street and 178 Main Street. The only appeal pending is for 87 Walkers brook Drive.. 7. 1 have prepared preliminary documents for review of Mr. Piani's appeal,' - \ U 2~
