All of the annual bills for payments in lieu of tax agreements and 121A tax agreements have been issued. The three property owners in Reading that receive these bills are the United Church Homes, Grove Property Services and the Reading Housing Authority. 2. As you are aware, the FY 1998 Appellate Tax Board hearings for McDonald's, Exxon and Daniel's Nursing Home have been continued to February 11 th, 1999. Steve Gasperoni is preparing the appraisals for Exxon and Daniel's. To date, these three cases are all that are pending. 3. To date, we have received 9 applications for abatement and have distributed 29 applications. Last year at this time, filed applications totaled 24 and we had distributed approximately 80. The deadline for filing an abatement application is February 1, 1999, the same day the third quarter taxes are due. To date, 66% (6) of the applications are for personal property. 4. To date, we have received about 33% of the annual filings for exemptions; 136 have filed out of the 416 exemptions filed last year. Reminder letters will be going out the first week in February. The deadline for filing for an exemption is March 18, 1999. 5. Last week the annual submissions of Reading data to the Banker and Tradesman and Taconic Data were completed. 6. Initial ratio studies for FY2000 on sales occurring between 01/01/98 and 07/31/98 show a median .87 ASR for single family homes. The average sale price of the 172 sales is $254,093 with a COD of 8.29. Sales questionnaires and inspection requests will be mailed next week for these 1998 sales. 7. Peter Hechenbleikner indicated he would be requesting overlay surplus figures from the BOA very shortly. I will prepare the figures of surplus for the Board to vote on at their next meeting.
