1. To date, there are 40 applications for abatement that have been
reviewed out of the 116 that have been filed, 34%. Given CH 59
Section 63 provides for a 3 month time period from the date of
filing to act on the abatement prior to it being deemed denied.
2. There have been approximately 325 exemptions filed to date, this
represents 62% of the normal yearly filers. We will send out
reminders to those who have not filed mid-February. Out of the
approximate 29 deferrals that we have yearly, 12 have applied,
41%.
3. Peter Hechenbleikner has requested the Board of Assessors to render
an opinion of value for the Bear Hill site. The sale is pending
until the Board renders an opinion.
4. We are ready to submit to the DOR all of the 1992 sales updated with
the FY'1994 values. This information is being provided for E0V
purposes.
5. I have been in touch with the Reading Houding Authority, Peg Plansky,
about the PILOT that was requested for 175-179 Main Street. Peg
Plansky will be at the next BOA meeting.
6. The value for Cedar Glenn has been established for FY1994 pursuant
to their PILOT agreement with the town. The deadline for submitting
the value is March 1, 1994.
7. There will be an Eastern Mass CAMA Users Group Meeting held in Reading
on February 15, 1994. Topics on the agenda are Income summary record,
automatic cost calibrator, public access screens and property record
cards.
