A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of
the Town Hall, 16 Lowell Stream Reading, Massachusetts at 7:OOPM. Mr. Vaccaro swore
in, under oath, those present that would be addressing the Board this evening.
Attorney Scott Consaul, repr g Dorothy Jones, et al, requested that the time by
which action needs to be taken under the Special Permit granted for Lot 198 Harvest
Road (Case No. 93-02) be extended for six months.
A motion having been made and seconded, the Board voted unanimously to grant a six-
month extension to now expire on August 7, 1999.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
The first Public Hearing was on the petition of Ralph and Nancy Dell'Orfano who sought
a Variance under Section 5.0 ofthe Zoning By-Laws in order to construct an addition
within the required side yard of 15'-0" (2 stories) on the property located at 85 Sunnyside
Avenue in Reading, Massachuwft. (Case #99-01)
The petitioners represented themselves. They were unable to provide enough information
to the Board to meet the requirements needed to obtain a variance.
The petitioner decided to request to withdraw his request for a variance without
prejudice.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to allow the petitioner to withdraw
his request for a variance without prejudice.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
The next Public Hearing was on the petition of K. Krekorian, Trustee for Greenhouse
Acres Condominiums, who seeks a change or modification of Special Permit issued in
Case # 1987-08 under Section 4.6 of the Zoning By-Laws in order to address municipal
rubbish collection on the property located at Carnation Circle in Reading, Massachusetts.
(Case #99-02)
The Condominium Association was represented by Attorney Steve Singer, of 278 Mystic
Avenue, Medford. Attorney Singer stated that he is here to request that the condition
from the Special Permit be removed so that trash can be picked up as approved at the last
Town Meeting.
For the record, there were no objections voiced by any abutters and no one present
expressed objection to rubbish collection being done by the Town.
The Board felt that continuing the meeting would allow for the petitioners to obtain a
copy of the warrant article or some confirmation of a Town Meeting vote, and also to
obtain a copy of a legal document named in the Special Permit, which should refer to
rubbish collection.
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to continue this Public Hearing to
February 18, 1999.
VOTE 3-0 (passed)
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn, and the Board voted unanimously to do so.
VOTE 3;-0 (passed) Respectfully submitted by Carolyn Walsh, Recording Secretary to the Zoning Board of
Appeals.
