The meeting was called to order at 7: 40 p.m
1. Minutes of 9/10/07 approved as amended (4-0).
2. Minutes of 4/7/08 approved as amended (4-0).
3. Update on signs-
SP has been in communication with George 7.ambouras, who said that the signs should be
installed soon. SP distributed draft copies of the press release that will accompany pictures of the
signs after they are installed. The headline, "Signs Mark Reading's New West Street Historic
District " was suggested for the press release.
4. Homeowner letter-
SP presented the cover letter to homeowners that will be mailed out with the new Commission
brochure, "West Street Historic District, Reading Massachusetts". The brochure will also be
distributed to the local Realty offices by RN.
5. Brochure-
Commission members reviewed the brochure and made editing suggestions. DK will make the
corrections to finalize the brochure. RN researched prices for 31/2 by 5 in. brass plaques with
four lines of engraving. It was decided to include information on the purchase of the plaques in
the mailing to the homeowners.
6. West Street reconstruction-
SP will draft a response to GPI regarding pavement construction, overlay, curbing and traffic
signals.
7.206 West Street-
Glen has issued a cease work order and fine of $300. to the homeowners . The Commission has
not received any information regarding what the project consists of.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 pm.
