ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
June 14, 2006
A meeting of the Water, Sewer and Storm Water Management Advisory Committee WS S W C was
held' at 8:02 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, MA.
In attendance were Chairman Stephen Crook, Secretary John Wood, Committee member Steve Oston,
Associate Member Gail Wood, DPW Director Ted McIntire and interested citizen David Tuttle.
Meeting Minutes
It was moved by John Wood, seconded by Steve Oston, and approved by a vote of 3-0 to approve the
minutes of May 10, 2006 as amended.

minutes of May 17, 2006 as written.
It was moved by John Wood, seconded by Steve Oston, and approved by a vote of 3-0 to approve the
minutes of May 24, 2006 as amended.
FY2007 Storm Water Rates
- Ted McIntire reviewed the handout with the Committee. There was a discussion of fees being charged to
churches, and the Committee felt that the storm water costs in relation to a church budget were minor.
They also discussed municipal/school properties and decided that they should also be charged a storm
water fee.
It was moved by John Wood, seconded by Steve Oston, and approved by a vote of 3-0 to recommend a
rate of $39.84 with no exemptions. The rate of $39.84 would be billed to 1 and 2-family residences and
for every 2,552 square feet of impervious area on all other properties. The rate also includes an
approximate 10% additional cost to cover abatements and start to develop a reserve fund for the storm
water enterprise. Ted will send a letter to the Town Manager outlining the vote of the WSSWMAC.
It was moved by Steve Oston, seconded by John Wood and approved by a vote of 3-0 to adjourn the
meeting at 9:OOPM.
