The September 9, 2008 Meeting Minutes were approved by a vote of 4-0-0.
Joan volunteered to start putting together a list of activities to include in a report to the selectman.
The April 25a' work date will be discussed further at an upcoming meeting.
It was suggested that we see if the Conservation Commission has some funds available for an
aluminum sign recognizing the REI donation for the Bare Meadow Viewing Platform.
It was proposed that the wording of the sign be "Viewing platform made possible by a grant from REI.
2009" The wording was approved by a vote of 4-0-0.
Upcoming opportunities to publicize the Adopt a Trail Program were identified as:
• Saturday June 20 Reading Friends and Family Day at Birch Meadow from 11 to 3 PM.
• Earth Day around Wednesday April 22
Joan will find out what dates the Reading Senior Center would be available for an Adopt a Trail Open
House in early May.
It was suggested that May 16th might be a good date for the Adopt a Trail training and possibly
combining that with a ribbon cutting ceremony and photo opportunity for the viewing platform.
Tom volunteered to get something in the Reading Recreation Magazine regarding the open house.
Kim volunteered to try to get something in the Community connection notice.
Charles volunteered to look into find out the procedure to get something listed on RCTV Community
Bulletin Board and to request that some of John Surrette's programs be rebroadcast this spring to
increase community awareness of the Ipswich River and Town Forest.
Respectfully submitted,
Charles Donnelly Moran
