1. The Committee voted (3-0 Joan, Tom and Dave) to accept the

2. Adopt-a-Trail Program discussion:
• The program needs serious review, lots of attention and more
organization. There are still adopters that need to be
assigned trails.
• Assessment of trails should be done by Trail Committee
Members prior to adoption.
• Main trails still need to be blazed. Trail heads in some areas
are not marked and clear. People don't know where to
enter the trail.
• The idea of each Trail Committee Member taking on the role
of Adopt-a-Trail Ambassador for a designated area was
discussed. This would allow adopters to have a contact
person who can introduce them to their adopted area with a
site visit, provide basic trail maintenance information and trail
training, answer questions and to report issues or problems to,
provide and follow up on adopters completed forms.

aggregate material and connecting the two. It will be
necessary to shore up the sides of the extended trail with
stones to stabilize it.

• Recreational Trails Program Grant-Amount requested:
$18,139. Amount awarded: $16,539. Funds are to be used
towards Bare Meadow Trail Enhancements.

grant funds?
• Discussed using funds to plan and design boardwalks to
stabilize and enhance areas of the trail which may include
the hiring of the appropriate people needed for the project.
• Fran and Susan attended the site visit but it was rescheduled
due to poor attendance.
• Fran will find out if Mark Wetzel is available to help with this
project. Are a wetlands permit and design needed for this
