HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-01-10 Celebration Trust Committee Minutes - RevisedCorrected Minutes for the 350th Celebration Trust And Historic Preservation Fund January 10, 2006 Call to Order 7:05 PM August 17, 2005 Januarv 10, 2006 In attendance: Mark Cardono, Chairperson and Secretary 4 " Bob McLaughlin, Member Kurt Habel, Member Everett Blodgett, Member Rita Robertson, Member u - Guests: Rachel Baumgartner, Reading Public Library M Ruth Urell, Reading Public Library Review and discussion of Celebration Trust Fund Applications: 1) Reading Public Library - $2000 from the Historic Preservation Trust for the digitization and cataloging of local historic materials project. Ruth and Rachel gave an informative presentation to the members. The members discussed that the application was not in by the deadline for the Celebration Trust. However, based on the guidelines and the past awards of funds, the members determined that an application for the Historic Preservation Fund can be made at any time during the year. The members discussed the application and how well it meets the criteria of the fund. Everett made a motion to grant the Reading Public Library the full request of $2000 from the Historic Preservation Trust for the digitization and cataloging of local historic materials project. Rita seconded the motion. Vote: 5-0-0. 2) Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce - $1500 from the 350th Celebration Trust for the "Holiday Tree Lighting" The members discussed the application and how well it meets the criteria of the fund. Rita made a motion to grant the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce $1500 from the 350th Celebration Trust for the "Holiday Tree Lighting". Kurt seconded the motion. Vote: 5-0-0. The members discussed the next open application period. Everett made a motion to make the next open application period, from February 1, 2006 to March 31, 2006. Bob seconded the motion. Vote: 5-0-0. Kurt will contact the local newspapers, RCTV, and the Town's Webmaster for posting the new open application period. The next meeting will be on or around the second week of April 2006 to review applications submitted during the February 1, 2006 to March 31, 2006 open application period.
