CALLED TO ORDER-7:30 PM
MEMBERS PRESENT - Bill Carrick, Karyn Storti, Dale Merrill, Nicole LeBlanc,
Lisa DiTrapeno, Sandy Michaud, Jane Fiore
REVIEW OF MINUTES- February minutes reviewed but tabled until next month.
Bill Carrick wanted to thank Karyn Storti for the record for chairing last month's meeting
in his absence. He also thanked her for her speedy chairing and stated it was a goal for
him in the future.
PUBLIC INPUT-None
REVIEW OF PUBLICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE-Coverage of our Council
and some of its work was in the School Notes Column in the Daily Times Chronicle.
Also, Safe Homes program re-introduced to community through High Flyer, the RMHS
Newsletter.
STUDENT REPORT-Nicole stated the first dance is on the night after our meeting.
There hasn't been much response to the dances this year. Better chaperoning may play a
part and also eliminating scheduling conflicts. Bathroom smoking is still less than
before. There are many senior activities coming up in the next few months.
POLICE REPORT-No police report due to absence of Matt Edson. Plan to follow up
with Matt on monthly statistical reports he offered to prepare for us.
SPRING EDUCATION PROGRAM PLANNING-Possible date in May. Karyn
suggested the focus be on alcohol. Bill will recruit speakers from CAB-Center for
Addictive Behavior. Jane will do the organizational work and Karyn will assist with
publicity.
A discussion of our last panel program followed. For the record, we thank Dale and ask
her to thank the judge again. Thanks to the January "Illegal Drug Use in Reading" panel
discussion, we were able to highlight a continuing problem and provide a chance for
discussion .
ADJOURNED - 8:37 PM
Respectfully Submitted,
Karyn Storti
