An information packet was passed out and we reviewed it and discussed some things that may affect trash calculations. For example, the recent flooding will increase the amount of bulk pick up because many families experienced water damage in their homes. b. Effective 7/1/01 a new company, Atlantic North Waste Systems, will be picking up Reading's recyclables and Waste Management will continue to pick up rubbish. 4. Reading's Hidden Treasure: We discussed the positive feedback we've received from residents about the booklet. Printing costs were $7,300 for 10,000 copies of the booklet. Sir Speedy is the company that printed the booklet. The postage for mailing booklets to Reading residents was under $1,000. As part of the educational requirement of the contract with the Town of Reading, Waste Management is supposed to give a donation in an undetermined amount towards educational programs. The Town may or may not see this donation from Waste Management. Earth Day Update: Joan will write a letter to Peter Hechenbleikner asking his permission to set up the Reading Recycles banner on the common on Saturday, April 21, 2001, some posters reminding residents that Sunday April 22, 2001 is Earth Day and hopefully, we'll have some Boy Scouts holding signs for us.
