(Board of Selectmen)
1. Minutes from March meeting were approved.
2. Ted's Report: Compost Center: FY '03 budget has one-third reduction in dollars
for staff (22% decrease in hours) (reduced from 78 days to 61 days). This
possibly saves town $6500. Public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday evening, the
14th. The $25 fee for sticker vs. the cut hours may possibly be discussed.
3. Earth Day: Keith went over the highlights of the Earth Day clean up the
committee organized. We will generate "Thank You" notes separate from the
meeting.
4. Crystal Garden Club meeting - it is scheduled for May 14 at the Reading Senior
Center. Composting is the Topic. Bob will be attending.
5. Bulk Waste - This past pick-up was the last time.
6. Membership - Joan will not remain a member of the committee, but Susan will,
for another three years, The committee is now looking for three additional
members.
7. PAYT Seminars - there is about five this spring, one on the 15th in Melrose 9:30-
12:30.
8. Karen spoke on the financial implications of various PAYT programs.
