Meeting Minutes - July 10, 2002 E AD1 G, MASS

1. Minutes from June meeting and minor changes are to be made. Minutes were
approved and seconded.
2. Michael O'Halloran discussed revised compost hours which are necessary due to
lack of helpers (8:00 a.m. -12 p.m.[was 2:30 p.m.]). This is every Monday
through September and closed on Labor Day. Cook Co. coming in next 2-3
weeks to grind the compost. He also informed committee of the town receiving a
grant through the DEP for "Municipal Recycling Tool Kits". A photd'6f Bob
receiving his most recent award from Matt Costello will go into the local paper.
3. Keith had a call from an individual wanting to attend tonite's meeting and
possibly joining up. The individual was Judith Mitchel, who actually is a former
member of some year's back. Also, Bob had talked with another person possibly
interested in joining the committee. However, he was to go on vacation and will
not attend this evening but will in the future.
4. Gail Wood happily informed group that she was designated liaison from the
Board to us for another year.
5. Bob mentioned on July 19 in Wilmington there would be a workshop entitled
"Grants" held by DEP office. He will be attending.
6. Bob set up on the VCR some interesting videos from a conference he attended in
New Hampshire that advertised two very large grinding and sorting machines that
turn glass into a useable filler product. This final product can also be used as
gravel for drainage systems in large farming industries in other states.
7. New Business: July 25 is an MRIP meeting in Ipswich at 9:30 a.m, Bob may go
and Michael may attend also. Bob attended Safety Clean meeting in Andover
(they are the company merging with Clean Harbors). Bob is also examining scrap
electronics collections. He mentioned the Framingham store of the `Best Buy'
chain would be taking back any old broken electronics. In addition to
Framingham also Danvers.
8. Meeting adjourned at 9:22 p.m.
